Now that I’m in my early-30s and have started my career, I’ve realized that many of the steps I took to advance my career were based on serendipity rather than thoughtful planning.

When I was 16 years old and deciding what classes to take in high school, I wish someone had given me some advice about how to build a more successful future.

Even if it was just one piece of advice, it would have been tremendously helpful because it would have given me something concrete that I could have applied to my day-to-day decisions throughout high school and college.

You’re not a special snowflake

Don't spend too much time trying to find the one. Figure out what you want to do, then hunt for the best match. You don't want to work somewhere that isn't a good fit.

You should never underestimate your potential. Push yourself as hard as you can, and don't let anyone hold you back.

A degree isn’t everything
